The Mystical Seven, 1894
The Mystical Seven was a secret society founded in 1837 at Wesleyan University.
Members of this society were called Mystics. Chapters, known as Temples, expanded to other universities, including Emory, Genesee, and Universities of Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia. The symbol of the organization is a seven pointed star (see the pins on the seven Mystics) with a caldron in the middle (note the caldron on the table and the tablecloth). Today, the groups have merged into other organizations/fraternities or have gone dormant.
