Beautifully hand painted albumen photograph of four women from an Egyptian harem. They are posed with musical instruments and a hookah.
Andreas Daniel Reiser was a German photographer born in Munich who initially worked in Romania. In 1884, he set up shop in Egypt, where he lived until his death. He owned photography businesses in Alexandria and Cairo. After his death, his son Lucien took over the business with Anton Binder, renowned painter and photographer.
